President and CEO
Rob Spignesi has more than 20 years of leadership experience. Before joining Rapid Micro Biosystems, he was Vice President and General Manager, Americas, for the Microbiology Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Previously, Mr. Spignesi was the VP of Global Strategy, Marketing, and Business Development for Fisher Scientific. He has also held senior positions at McKesson Corporation and its affiliates, including EVP Operations and Development and National Vice President of Sales and Business Development.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Spignesi was a senior consultant within the Life Sciences and Healthcare practice of Deloitte Consulting and an aviation officer with the U.S. Army.
Mr. Spignesi holds a BS in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Columbia University, where he was the Dr. Donald Bibeault Scholar.
Chief Financial Officer
Sean Wirtjes has over 30 years of broad financial experience in the healthcare and technology industries. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Finance and Controller of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) for Boston Scientific, a manufacturer of medical devices. In this role, he led all aspects of financial management for the AMEA region, as well as providing regional oversight for the strategic pricing, reimbursement, supply chain, and business development functions.
Previously he served as Vice President of Investor Relations at Boston Scientific, in progressive roles at Varian, Inc. including Vice President and Controller and Vice President, Finance and Treasurer, and as Corporate Controller at Quova. He began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, serving emerging, high-growth clients across the healthcare and technology industries.
Mr. Wirtjes holds a BS in Accounting from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of Financial Executives International (FEI) and the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP).
Chief Operating Officer
John Wilson brings over 20 years of progressive experience to Rapid Micro Biosystems from Medtronic and Becton Dickinson, where he was most recently the Vice President of Global Operations. Mr. Wilson has held multiple leadership positions in quality, operational excellence, global operations, product development, and direct day-to-day plant management activities.
Mr. Wilson has served his country in the U.S. Army. He holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
Senior Director, Strategy and BD
Vaidehi Ambatipudi has over 17 years of experience in Strategy, Business Development and Business Analytics roles across various industries. Before joining Rapid Micro Biosystems, she served as the Director of Strategy and Business Development at Cytiva and Pall Biotech (Danaher), where she successfully led numerous initiatives that drove growth and strategic direction.
Previously, Vaidehi held progressive Strategy and BD roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Mitchell International and Boston Consulting Group. She began her career leading Analytics teams at Sears Holdings and HSBC.
Vaidehi holds an MBA from INSEAD, France and Mechanical Engineering degrees from Purdue University, Indiana and Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India.
SVP Legal & Secretary
Mr. Xu earned his bachelors’ degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Davis, and his juris doctor degree from Harvard Law School.
Senior VP Human Resources
Julie Jarvie brings over 20 years of progressive human resources experience in the healthcare, clinical research, technology, and biotech, industries. Most recently, she was Vice President, People Strategy and Employee Experience at BlueRock Therapeutics, a cell therapy company. In this role, she led all aspects of business partnering, organizational development and design, and employee engagement.
Previously, she served as Vice President, Human Resources at Mimecast, a high-growth, cyber-security company where she partnered with several members of the C-suite to strategically build and scale their teams.
Ms. Jarvie holds a Chief Human Resources Officer Executive Program certificate from Wharton Business school, a Master of Science in Human Resources from Suffolk University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications from Framingham State University.
