The Growth Direct System® features proprietary consumables designed to enhance system performance. Positive test results are produced faster and more accurately than with standard methods. The cassette format has been optimized and tested for both ease-of-operator use and system throughput.
No reagents are needed for sample analysis. Positive samples continue to incubate so that final colony units (CFUs) can be analyzed and sent for microbial identification without regrowth steps that waste critical time.
Media-filled cassettes are produced in controlled cleanroom environments, then irradiated to ensure high quality and long shelf life. Once the cassettes are loaded into the instrument, colony imaging, counting, and data recording are all handled automatically. Sample integrity and personnel welfare are safeguarded.
Each cassette is delivered labeled with a unique 2D identifier barcode. There is room for a system-generated, customer-applied label with an additional 2D barcode for sample identification.
Consumables are comprised of media and materials used in traditional compendium methods, which simplifies validation. Consumables for Environmental Monitoring Industry-standard media is available: Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA) with Lecithin, Polysorbate 80 (LP80) and TSA with LP80HT (histidine and thiosulphate).
Industry-standard media is available: R2 Agar (R2A) for water testing, Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) for yeasts and molds, and Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA) for general product testing.
