On February 18 and 19, Rapid Micro Biosystems will be presenting two scientific posters at the Parenteral Drug Association's (PDA) annual European conference on pharmaceutical microbiology in Berlin. This year's theme is “Advances in Pharmaceutical Microbiology in Support of Manufacturing,” and the program will include presentations and updates from regulators, industry leaders and technology vendors from around the world.
The conference will focus on several topics critical for microbiologists, manufacturing personnel and other pharmaceutical stakeholders, including:
- Common misconceptions in pharmaceutical microbiology
- Microbiological advances in sterile and non-sterile manufacturing
- Validation of new microbiological methods and the efficient implementation of rapid methods
- Strategies for internal and external microbiological investigations
- Current regulatory perspectives on rapid microbiological methods
Rapid Micro Biosystems will be exhibiting at the event and presenting two scientific posters. Dr. Andrew Sage, Manager, Microbiology Applications, will be presenting the poster, “Testing of ‘Non-filterable’ Materials by Membrane Filtration and RMMs.” Dr. Sage will present cases that demonstrate how samples that are typically considered unfilterable can be prepared in a way to allow for membrane filtration and analysis by rapid technologies like the Growth Direct™ System.
Dr. David Jones, Technical Services Director, will present the poster, “Optimization of Environmental Monitoring Incubation Parameters.” Dr. Jones will discuss the challenges associated with environmental monitoring (EM) programs, the opportunities that faster EM techniques can provide, regulatory guidelines on incubation strategies, and how rapid methods like the Growth Direct™ System can enable a better foundation for selection of final incubation strategies.
